In some areas of my home country, Mozambique, the people honour their ancestors making them offers of food and drink near a chosen tree, normally a baobab tree, that incarnates the spirits of the dead ones.
The food and beverages are deposited at the base of these magnificent trees in ceramic vessels as those used for storing, cooking, drinking and eating among the living ones, in their day to day normal lives.
